CEO of AMC Theatres, Aaron Adam, created the special announcement on Twitter Wednesday. “To honor the late Olivia Newton-John: several of our U.S. theatres this weekend can show her classic 1978 hit film Grease, once more on the massive screen,” he revealed, more noting that some of price tag sales are going to be given via the AMC Cares charity.
The world’ largest cinema chain is running the promotion beginning Friday, Aug. 19, tho’ it’s unclear specifically how long the throwback film will be out there for in-theatre viewing.
Newton-John was diagnosed with carcinoma in 1992, and despite initial booming treatment, the malady came twice, spreading throughout her body. In could 2017, the singer-songwriter and actor proclaimed that back pain originally thought to be sciatica, really clad to be cancer that had affected to her back, in line with PEOPLE.
The four-time Grammy winner was 73-years-old once she passed on August 8, 2022.
Following the news of her death, Newton-John’ Grease co-star John Travolta, in conjunction with many others, enclosed touching tributes to the Australian star on social media.
